Fefe Says…

Book Review: Rules of Attraction

Posted in Books by Felicia on June 17, 2010

Rules of Attraction, by Simone Elkeles, will make your heart swoon!  If you enjoyed reading Perfect Chemistry, there’s no doubt you will enjoy this novel.

Carlos Fuentes, a rebellious teen sent to live in Colorado, is sure his life in the new town is going to be complete hell.  He doesn’t want to go to school, and he especially doesn’t want to deal with his perky tour guide, Kiara.  He’s got a mean streak that he doesn’t intend to break.  He’s been to the true depths of the real world and to him, the world he’s been thrust into is like something out of a storybook.

Meanwhile, Kiara Westford is just your average Plain Jane.  She doesn’t care about outward appearances and most of all, she doesn’t put up with any of Carlos’ crap.  But one thing’s for sure:  Carlos makes her nervous.  Very nervous.  Is that one of the reasons her verbal stuttering is coming back?  Maybe.

So when Carlos is forced to live with Kiara’s family, things start to get interesting.  These two challenge each other constantly, but also seem to have a connection on a much deeper level.  Without giving too much of the plot away, I can tell you that you are going to thrive on the ups and downs of their budding relationship.  Your heart will pound, and you will wish that Carlos Fuentes is a living, breathing individual.  He’s totally swoon-worthy.

Be sure to read the epilogue at the end of the book.  It’s truly a perfect ending to an already perfect story.
