Now that The Vampire Diaries is over for the summer months, many of us are going to go crazy unless we have something in our lives to hold us over.  Whether you adore Elena, love Damon, or can’t get enough of Stefan Salvatore–there is something for everyone.  Sure, you can watch season one reruns until your eyeballs fall out, but how about some variety?  Here are some of my suggestions.

In the television version of The Vampire Diaries, Elena Gilbert has two “best friends”:  Bonnie Bennett and Caroline Forbes. 

Happy Mother’s Day! Best Television Moms

As we celebrate our mothers in the real world today, we can’t forget the mothers of our favorite television shows.  What would our lives be like without them?  I’m counting down my top three.

Pretty Little Liars

I love television shows that are based off of books I’ve read—like Vampire Diaries and ABC Family’s latest hit, Pretty Little Liars, which is set to premiere on June 8^th.  Based off the popular series by Sara Shepard, the show follows four best friends:  Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily.  At least, they were best friends until their clique leader, Alison, went missing.  After the incident—a few years later, the girls start receiving menacing texts from someone named “A”—only to find that they know secrets only their former BFF Alison could know. So…is she still alive? And will the series live up to the books?

As a Charmed lover, I am super excited to see that Holly Marie Combs—known to many as Piper—will be playing the mother of Aria.  Maybe she’ll freeze one of the girls if things get out of hand?

Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel gives birth!

Congrats to The Real Housewives of New York City‘s Bethenny Frankel!  It is reported that she gave birth to baby girl Bryn, Saturday.  I’m so happy for her–as she is the best thing about that show and deserves all that is coming to her. 

Don’t forget to mark your calendars!  Bethenny’s new show, Bethenny Getting Married, debuts June 10 at 10/9c.  Will you be watching?

Stefan or Damon Salvatore?

It’s an understatement when I say I’m obsessed with The Vampire Diaries over on The CW.  Who is my favorite Salvatore brother?  Why, that would be Stefan (Paul Wesley).  I know Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has those piercing eyes, intense gaze, and a witty way of speaking, but Stefan is so…protective and caring with Elena—sort of like Edward is with Bella in Twilight.  He has that whole dark and mysterious brooding thing going on, while still being passionate and caring at the same time.  Some might say the same about Damon, and even I’ll admit, at times I find myself drooling over him (especially in the books).  But, if I had to stick with just one for now, I would have to go with Stefan.  Or both.  I can’t decide!

Jess Mariano, Come Back!

Ever since Gilmore Girls ended in 2007, it seems like a part of me went missing somehow. But, even though I miss the girls even more than they love coffee (!), I also miss the Stars Hollow’s bad boy resident, Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia).  I think it was his tough exterior combined with his love of literature.  Or the way he wore his hair.  Or even the sound of his voice.  Even the way he walked made me swoon! I know that Milo is on Heroes now, but does anyone ever wonder what GG spinoff Windward Circle would have been like if it had been given a chance?

10 Things I Hate About You

ABC Family is one of the best channels on my television.  It has re-runs of some of my old favorites—like Gilmore Girls and What I Like About You—while still introducing me to the dramatic world of the Greek life and also the inner workings of the Stratford household in my current obsession, 10 Things I Hate About You.

Since this is a television sitcom, it’s strayed far from the 90’s movie plot line that everyone is so familiar with.  Even so, I think the writers have done an excellent job with developing a show that stays true to those characters. 

Being Erica Season Three, Please?

Being Erica recently concluded it’s second season on SOAPnet and I am going through serious withdrawal–big time.  It was one of my few comfort shows: I would race home from a grueling three hour night class, make some dinner, flop on the couch, and stay that way for an hour.  I was completely addicted.
